Brighter Pictures who are the makers of Get A New Life are about to start filming series 2 for BBC2.

The series will follow a family from England who plan on relocating to France. From viewing properties to buy, unravelling French bureaucracy, setting up a business, settling their children into school and finding a suitable property to rent for two months or possibly longer.

Programmes of this nature are excellent public relations for both the tourist industry and property business. As a BBC production you can expect it to be accurate and without the sensationalism connected with commercial television.

The family intends moving to the area around Pau in the Pyrénées Atlantiques.

Our presenter will need to see 5 rental properties overall (including 2 that our family would NOT go for). This is so our family and viewers can get an idea of the range of properties available near Pau, which is where they are settling. After our presenter rejects 2 of the properties, the remaining 3 properties will be shown to our family - who will pick one house to live in. The criteria are as follows:

  •   Needs to be near Pau
  •   3 or 4 bedroom house
  •   A nice bit of land - e.g. large garden, lots of grass

The family could stay there for as short a time as 4 or 5 weeks - or as long a time as 12 months onwards (up to even 2 or 3 years!). So they are willing to pay a premium for the first two months if this would give them the flexibility to either leave after 5 weeks or have the option to stay on. We would like to hear from property owners willing to negotiate along these lines.

If you have (or know someone who has) a property that fits these criteria then, please contact us now!

Estate Agents with properties for sale in the area should provide their contact details by clicking here.
